Over 70 supporters packed The Corner Pocket restaurant to listen to Sen. Warner’s comments about the upcoming November elections for the House of Delegates and to get a better understanding of Abbott’s vision for the 93rd district. Many in attendance expressed concerns over the lack of progress that has been made by the current leadership in the House of Delegates on a variety of key issues. When asked what issues were of particular importance to Abbott by an attendee she replied, “As your Delegate, I will be a new voice for everyone in the 93rd District not just a select few, as has been the case over the last two decades. If elected I will fight to bring and keep good paying jobs to the region, fight for affordable, accessible healthcare for all Virginians, and a quality public education for our children.”
When asked about why she decided to run now, Robin stated that “Although he may have gone in with the best intentions, I believe this district has been underserved by my opponent for far too long. In 2008 the people of this district overwhelmingly voted to take this commonwealth and nation in a new direction, and if we as Virginians are to move forward with the rest of the country on that course, I believe we need new democratic leadership in Richmond. I am ready to be that new leader.”
